Glossary

Words used in the app, briefly.

Bridge — The licensed money transmitter that issues your US dollar account and settles its ACH and wire payments.

Base — The public network your smart wallet lives on. A layer-2 of Ethereum.

Chart of accounts — Your list of bookkeeping categories, against which transactions are mapped.

Device key — A key created in your browser that signs the exact terms of each payment. Encrypted with your passkey where your device supports it.

Draft — A payment prepared for review before it is sent.

EURe — Euro e-money issued by Monerium as a token. One EURe is one euro, redeemable at par.

Global account — Your set of local accounts, one per currency, held in one wallet.

Four eyes — The rule that the person who reviews a payment cannot be the person who drafted it.

Invalid data — The state a draft enters when a payee's saved details changed after the draft was made.

Invoice-Me link — A one-time link a supplier uses to submit an invoice to you without an account.

Local account — An account in the currency of a place, with the identifier used there.

MiCA — The EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation. EURe is an e-money token under it.

Mid-market rate — The reference exchange rate between the buy and sell prices, used to measure the margin on a quote.

Monerium — The licensed e-money institution that verifies your identity, issues your IBAN and issues EURe.

Organisation — The tenant that holds accounts and members. A personal account is an organisation of one.

Passkey — Your sign-in and wallet-owner credential, held in your device's secure hardware and unlocked biometrically.

Payment page — Your public link at zoldhq.com/pay/handle, showing an address anyone can pay.

Pickup reference — The MoneyGram number a recipient gives at the counter to collect cash.

Quote — The fixed terms of a transfer: amounts, rate, fee. Held for ten minutes.

Reporting currency — The currency your ledger and reports are valued in.

SEPA — The Single Euro Payments Area. Euro bank transfers between IBANs in it.

Smart wallet — Your Safe smart account on Base, owned by your passkey.

Tax lot — One acquisition of an asset, with its date, quantity and cost, used to compute gains.

USDC — A US-dollar stablecoin issued by Circle. Accepted as a deposit and used inside the cash-pickup route.
